Nhà thơ Lê Đạt đã viết:
“Người công an đứng ngã tư đường phố
chỉ huy bên trái
bên phải
xe chạy
xe dừng
rất cần cho việc giao thông
nhưng đem bục công an
công an đáng sợ ấy nữa.

chia tay
Một thằng bạn khác
chưa hề đặt chân
đến cửa nhà thờ
chưa từng đọc qua
nửa trang kinh thánh
lại phải lòng
một người em xóm đạo
gia đình cô gái
ra điều kiện
“Muốn tính chuyện cưới xin
trước tiên
phải trở thành con chiên của Chúa.”
Muốn vợ
bạn tôi bắt đầu lớ ngớ
đến nhà thờ
trước ngực đeo lủng lẳng
cây thánh giá thât to
Poet Le Dat had written:
“The
police officer, standing at the crossroad
directing
from the left
directing
from the right
cars
running
cars
stopping,
is
very needed for traffic
but
putting the police platform,
an
tool, in people’s heart
forcing
the emotion up and down
according
to the traffic law of the authorities
that
might cause many sorrows
to
the world”.
(After
hearing the stories of several suicides.)
I
was creepy and scared when I thought of the police platform placed in people’s
heart. But there was one thing more dreadful than that dangerous police
platform. I want to talk about the call: “Let’s
love one another in the belief of the Lord”.
I
have witnessed with my own eyes:
Both
boy and girl had taken poison and holding tightly each other arms waiting for
death. Reason: they could not love each other in the belief of the Lord.
One
died from suicide, the other lived in eternal sufferings for the rest of one’s
life. Reason: They don’t belong to the same religion and there was no
concession of the family who trusts the belief of the Lord.
·
Both crushed their hearts themselves and
parted.
·
One person closes one’s eyes to convert
into the belief of the Lord in order to marry his beloved one.
To
me, that is the main disaster of mankind.
Being
a believer of the Lord (directly a follower of God), having gone with a
missionary group to the farthest areas of Nicaragua to preach Protestantism,
having guided an American Minister (Bob Gibson) into different areas of North
Viet Nam, I had expressed my concern with a poem. I dared only expose the first
part, and censured the second part. The poem did not mean to offend religion. I
only expressed my way of thinking, a way of action which had become a custom, a
canonical, but to me, it was erroneous and inhuman. Today, on the occasion of
the Pope’s visit to the United States of America, and the problem of gay
marriages had been on the table of different literary forum, I dare bring up
the whole poem - as a point of view - to contribute to this forum. I am ready
to receive everybody’s feedbacks.

The two friends
My
friend
son
of a religious tycoon
a
strong and for a long time God believer
loves
a beautiful classmate
when
they are near each other
people
said:
“what
a beautiful couple”
Near
the wedding day
the
girl’s parents
request
the couple keeping their personal own religion
the
groom side
the
tycoon and the church father
force
the girl to leave her religion to embrace their side, the Lord
their
love is broken
the
couple
in
tears
break
up
Another
friend
had
never set foot
in
any church
had
never read
half
of the Bible page
fell
in love
with
a religious girl
her
family put out
the
condition
“if
you think of marriage
first
of all
you
have to become a believer of the Lord”
Because
he wants to have a wife
my
friend starts
to
go to church
wearing
on his chest like a pendant
a
very big cross
sometimes
he sings in high voice
some
religious songs
or
reciting some prayers
with
the Bible
on
his hands
by
doing so
he
cheats life
These
are my two friends
one
losing the c…t because of the Lord
one
getting the c..t because he follows the Lord
I
respectfully pray the Pope
I
respectfully beg the fathers
the
wedding of the two young persons
is
the story of two burning hearts
of
the glance, of the smile
of
the embrace, of the lips
and
at the end
it
is the problem of the c..t and the p…k.
Please
do not ask
the
Lord to interfere
it
will destroy the heart
And
make the Lord’s hands dirty.
